The most profitable cargo transportation route for Georgian Railways is the alternative connecting route between Caspian and Central Asia and Georgian Railways, through which it connects to the ports of Poti, Batumi and Kulev, from where cargoes are transported directly to the ports of Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania and Ukraine .Rail transport in Georgia serves as a means of developing the country and achieving a competitive edge. Given the international economic climate, the demand for transit freight has seen an increase.
