Abstract
У статті, спираючись на положення доповіді Макса Вебера, прочитаної перед студентами Мюнхенського університету взимку 1918 року, обґрунтовано поняття «особистість вченого». Розкрито соціокультурні, екзистенційні та науково-дискурсивні конотації можливості даного поняття.
The article, based on the position report of Max Weber, which was read to students at Munich University in the winter of 1918, explains the concept of «personality of the scientist». It reveals the socio-cultural, existential and scientificdiscursive connotation of the concept. Data connotations within the meaning are centred on «non-articulated core» of the individual — freedom of choice and selfdetermination that is associated with one’s identity, having one’s basis of value preferences and beliefs. From this point of view, the devotion of the scientist to science cannot be used with certain emotional experiences. However, this does not concern only passive experiencing of emotions, but it also is some kind of a moral act. This fact actualizes personal moment that is implicitly incorporated into scientific knowledge. This draws the attention of Michael Polanyi, emphasizing that personal inclination gives rise to the paradox of loyalty: personality asserts his/her rational independence, obeying the demands of the own conscience, that is, the obligations which one imposes on him or herself. This dedication entails an act of self-identification and is implicitly included in the conceptualization of reality.
В статье, опираясь на положення доклада Макса Вебера, прочитанного перед студентами Мюнхенского университета зимой 1918 года, обосновывается понятие «личность ученого». Раскрывается социокультурные, экзистенциальные и научно-дискурсивные коннотации возможности данного понятия.
