Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to explore and compare main peculiarities of cultures of Ukraine and Romania that could facilitate business communication between representatives of the companies from countries mentioned above. We used data of the official Geert Hofstede’s centre to compare key cultural dimensions of Ukraine and Romania. Using comparative analysis we offer recommendations for Ukrainian managers planning to negotiate with Romanian partners. The results of the study indicate that Ukrainian managers should be more open, rational and pragmatic dealing with partners from Romania. They should also take into consideration a higher level of “masculinity” in Romanian business culture which means they should use more direct, persuasive and result-oriented style of communication.
