The analysis of signs in the works of Ch. Peirce which is based on distinguishing of three trichotomies has been performed. According to the first of them signs are divided into qualisign, sinsign, legisign. In the second trichotomy signs are divided into index, icon and symbol. The third trichotomy division introduces characters in rem, ditsisayny and arguments.
