    The War in Ukraine and its Impact on Global Agricultural Trade

    The Russian invasion of Ukraine represents an unforeseen and significant market disruption for global trade with wide-ranging effects on global trade, particularly on the economies of the major import countries of Ukrainian agricultural commodities. The general impact and consequences of the war on the global economy are described, and key components of the market disruptions are identified and put into a historical and geographical context. The degree of interconnectedness between the war in Ukraine and world trade and global gross domestic product (GDP) indices is highlighted. Changes in production and export volumes of the main Ukrainian agricultural commodities and their impact on major import countries are described. Actual and future measures to stabilise and soften the volatility of affected agricultural markets are presented. Die russische Invasion der Ukraine stellt eine unvorhergesehene und signifikante Marktstörung mit weit reichenden Effekten auf den globalen Handel als Ganzes, und speziell auf die Volkswirtschaften der größten Importländer von ukrainischen landwirtschaftlichen Rohstoffen dar. Die Auswirkungen und Konsequenzen des Kriegs auf die Weltwirtschaft werden beschrieben und Schlüsselkomponenten der Marktstörungen werden identifiziert und in einen historischen und geographischen Kontext gesetzt. Das Ausmaß der Verflechtungen zwischen Ukrainekrieg und Welthandel und den globalen GDP Indizes zeigt die Signifikanz der Marktstörungen. Die Veränderungen in der Produktion und des Exportvolumens der wichtigsten ukrainischen Agrargüter und deren Auswirkungen auf die Hauptimportländer werden dargestellt. Aktuelle und zukünftige Maßnahmen zur Stabilisierung und Abfederung der Volatilität der betroffenen Agrarmärkte werden diskutiert.

    Досліджено тенденцію до посилення торговельно-економічного співробітництва України та Китаю. Доведено важливість відносин із КНР як торговельним партнером України за допомогою кореляційно-регресійного аналізу, аналітичних спостережень і розрахунків. Визначено слабкі та сильні сторони співпраці двох країн, можливості і загрози за допомогою SWOTаналізу. Проаналізовано зміни у використанні інструментів стимулювання та стримування україно-китайської взаємодії, надано рекомендації щодо її вдосконалення. The agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the People's Republic of China on trade and economic cooperation established the regime of greatest assistance since 1992, which was before the accession of countries to the World Trade Organization. Currently, a solid legal and contractual basis of bilateral cooperation has about 300 documents in political, economic, scientific and technological and other fields. Ukraine-China relations are the nature of strategic partnership and continue to develop dynamically, both sides make efforts to bring it to a new level. In recent years, China has been leading ukraine's trade and economic partners. Today, the world is facing a new problem – the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, which weakened the cooperation of countries by extending the use of protectionist measures. As a result, the issue of the need to strengthen cooperation between countries was questioned. However, according to the results of 2019 and 2020, despite the conditions of today, Ukrainian-Chinese cooperation continues to gain momentum and intensify. The article is devoted to research trends in deepening trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and China, identification and argumentation the importance of China as a trading partner of Ukraine through correlation and regression analysis, analysis the weaknesses and strengths of cooperation between the two countries, opportunities and threats to strengthen it through SWOT analysis. The article also focuses on analyzing changes in the number of liberalization and protection measures applied, identifying effective tools to stimulate and curb their trade and economic cooperation during the pandemic and in the post-pandemic period.
