The peculiarities of the comprehension of the aesthetic phenomenon of painting from the point of view of the conception «Production of Presence» by the contemporary German-American cultural researcher H. U. Gumbreht are presented in the article. The aspects of texture and colour as integral asemantic components of aesthetic integrity are also considered in the work. The paradoxical situation of the depreciation of painting as an authentic cultural phenomenon as a result of spreading technical resources of reproduction that replaces and neutralize contemporary individual’s needs for a contact with pictorial original are analyzed in the paper.
