The work aims to explore the theoretical foundations and functions of the stock market. It outlines the main stages of stock market development and examines the role of the stock market in the economy of the United Kingdom. The thesis investigates the peculiarities of state regulation of securities market in the UK. It determines the current state of the stock market in the UK and explores its future prospects. The findings of the research will provide recommendations for improving the efficiency of the stock market functioning.
