The aim of the research is to identify new opportunities of integration of Georgia as a small open economy into the world trade system and identify the opportunities within the Free Trade Area Agreement, which will increase the competitiveness of the country and enable exporters to assimilate into new markets and formulate business strategies. The studies have revealed a number of new nontariff barriers which preclude companies from exporting products to the EU market. Based on those studies, challenges have been identified and recommendations aiming to mitigate the potential side effects caused by the enactment of the DCFTA agreement.
