Abstract
У статті досліджено особливості інвестиційної активності транснаціональних корпорацій (ТНК) у сфері глобальних інформаційних технологій в умовах цифрової трансформації світової економіки. Розкрито роль ІТ-ТНК у формуванні цифрової інфраструктури, включно з розбудовою дата-центрів, хмарних обчислювальних платформ, супутникових комунікаційних систем та виробництва напівпровідників, які забезпечують функціонування сучасного інформаційного середовища. Проаналізовано динаміку змін у структурі глобального рейтингу ТНК, зокрема зростання питомої ваги компаній із цифрового сектору, таких як Microsoft, Alphabet, Apple, Amazon, Huawei, Samsung та інших, що поступово витісняють традиційні галузі. Акцентовано увагу на тенденціях географічного розміщення інвестицій, зокрема на домінуванні компаній зі США та Китаю, які формують нову архітектуру цифрового впливу. Здійснено аналіз обсягів і структури інвестицій у науково-дослідні та дослідно-конструкторські розробки (НДДКР), що відображає зростання стратегічної ролі R&D-центрів у забезпеченні технологічного лідерства та інноваційної конкурентоспроможності. Виокремлено сучасні форми реалізації інвестиційних проєктів — від прямого інвестування до механізмів проєктного фінансування, участі спеціалізованих фінансових установ, венчурного капіталу та транснаціонального партнерства. Встановлено, що ТНК у сфері ІТ відіграють дедалі вагомішу роль не лише як провайдери цифрових рішень, а й як геоекономічні актори, які впливають на архітектуру глобальної економіки, змінюючи розподіл економічної влади та технологічних ресурсів. Визначено наявність асиметрії в доступі до цифрових інвестицій між розвиненими країнами і державами, що розвиваються, що створює виклики для подолання цифрової нерівності та досягнення цілей сталого розвитку. Зроблено висновок про необхідність системного аналізу інвестиційної політики ТНК у контексті зміцнення цифрового суверенітету, інноваційної безпеки та глобальної стійкості.
The article explores the specifics of investment activity by transnational corporations (MNC) in the field of global information technologies under the conditions of digital transformation of the world economy. The study highlights the role of IT- MNCs in shaping digital infrastructure, including the development of data centers, cloud computing platforms, satellite communication systems, and semiconductor production that support the functioning of the modern information environment. The dynamics of changes in the structure of global MNC rankings are analyzed, particularly the growing share of digital sector companies such as Microsoft, Alphabet, Apple, Amazon, Huawei, Samsung, and others, which are gradually displacing traditional industries. Special attention is paid to geographic investment distribution trends, especially the dominance of companies from the United States and China, which are shaping a new architecture of digital influence.
The article provides an in-depth analysis of the scale and structure of investments in research and development (R&D), reflecting the growing strategic importance of R&D centers in securing technological leadership and innovation competitiveness.
Contemporary forms of investment project implementation are identified — ranging from direct investment to mechanisms of project financing, participation of specialized financial institutions, venture capital, and transnational partnerships. It is found that IT-based MNCs are increasingly acting not only as providers of digital solutions but also as geoeconomic actors who influence the architecture of the global economy by reshaping the distribution of economic power and technological resources. The study identifies the presence of significant asymmetries in access to digital investment between developed and developing countries, which creates challenges in overcoming digital inequality and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The article concludes with the recognition of the need for a systematic analysis of TNC investment policy in the context of enhancing digital sovereignty, innovation security, and global resilience.
