Developing project management system for international organizations in the context of the Armed Conflict in Ukraine

This thesis examines project and programme management in organisational responses to the armed conflict in Ukraine. It compares the two paradigms in terms of orientation, scope, and methodologies, and discusses how they are applied in practice through Programme and Project Cycle Management. The study uses a mixed-methods approach, combining academic research, practical instruments, surveys, interviews, and the author’s professional observations. It also presents a case study of the UN and humanitarian assistance providers’ response and programmatic methodologies in the context of the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine. The paper highlights the need for evolving response mechanisms to suit the changing geopolitical landscape.
