Ю.Item Commercialization of an innovative autoimmune vaccine in the Ukrainian market: problems and prospects(ДВНЗ «Київський національний економічний університет імені Вадима Гетьмана», 2020-03) Petrenko, Liudmyla; Петренко, Людмила Анатоліївна; Петренко, Людмила Анатольевна; Kyrylenko, Viktoriia; Tereshchenko, YuliiaDeveloped at the Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology, the antitumor autoimmune vaccine, made on the basis of antigens from the patient's tumor tissue, is highly effective and, when used in complex therapy of cancer patients, significantly increases patient survival. The vaccine has a high market potential both in Ukraine and in the international market of cancer immunotherapy drugs. However, the commercialization of such innovative developments often faces a number of obstacles: internal, on the part of managers and/or managers of the institution, and external on the part of the external environment. The main barrier to the successful commercialization of the autoimmune vaccine at present is the external resistance – the lack of a standardization procedure for drugs manufactured for each patient individually. Therefore, it is the improvement of the legal framework in this direction that will accelerate the process of successful implementation of the autoimmune vaccine on the Ukrainian market. Розроблена в Інституті експериментальної патології, онкології та радіобіології протипухлинна аутоімунна вакцина, що виготовляється на основі антигенів з пухлинної тканини пацієнта є високоефективною і при застосуванні у комплексній терапії онкологічних хворих значно збільшує виживаність пацієнтів. Вакцина має високий ринковий потенціал як в Україні, так і на міжнародному ринку препаратів з імунотерапії раку. Однак, комерціалізація таких інноваційних розробок часто стикається з рядом перешкод: внутрішніх, з боку установи, та зовнішніх – з боку зовнішного середовища, у якому функціонує установа. Основною перепоною успішної комерціалізації аутоіммунної вакцини на даний час є саме зовнішній опір – відсутність процедури стандартизації для препаратів, що виготовляються для кожного пацієнта індивідуально. Тому, саме вдосконалення законодавчої бази у даному напрямку, сприятиме прискоренню процесу успішної імплементації аутоімунної вакцини на українському ринку. Разработанная в Институте экспериментальной патологии, онкологии и радиобиологии противоопухолевая аутоиммунная вакцина, изготавливается на основе антигенов с опухолевой ткани пациента является высокоэффективной и при применении в комплексной терапии онкологических больных значительно увеличивает выживаемость пациентов. Вакцина имеет высокий рыночный потенциал как в Украине, так и на международном рынке препаратов с иммунотерапии рака. Однако, коммерциализация таких инновационных разработок часто сталкивается с рядом препятствий: внутренних, со стороны учреждения, и внешних – со стороны внешней среды, в которой функционирует учреждение. Основной преградой успешной коммерциализации аутоиммунной вакцины в настоящее время является именно внешнее сопротивление – отсутствие процедуры стандартизации для препаратов, изготавливаемых для каждого пациента индивидуально. The impacts on innovative activities are considerable in the context of understanding the complexity of social and economic growth within both the national and global level. Despite numerous researches and available achievements in the field of the nature and essence of innovative activities in the context of social and economic growth, there are still a lot of different questions, concerning their determinants. The purpose of the current study is to determine a wide range of approaches to define both innovative activities and socio-economic growth, considering the nature of innovative activities and different determinants on theoretical as well as on the empirical levels. Results from earlier studies demonstrate a strong and consistent association between micro economic determinants and innovative activities. But above mentioned points of views are pretty limited and do not include some important determinants for innovative activities and further socio-economic growth. The current study is different from prior ones. Firstly, it looks at investigated determinants, which influence on the innovative activities and socio-economic growth, empirically. Secondly, it considers for a vast amount of practical approaches, which create the possibility to consider and combine the determinants of innovative activities. Thirdly, this paper investigates the issue associated with innovative activities, connected with social and economic growth nowadays. Thus, the authors provide empirical models, which are developed in accordance with appropriate tendencies in national economy. Зміна вектора розвитку національної економіки на інноваційний зумовила трансформацію моделей соціального та економічного зростання. Це вимагає диференціації детермінант, які є конкурентоспроможною сферою для подальшого соціально-економічного зростання в умовах глобалізації. Стаття репрезентує емпіричні дослідження внутрішніх і зовнішніх детермінантів інноваційної діяльності та соціально-економічного зростання. Низка попередніх досліджень була зосереджена на характеристиках і сутності інноваційної діяльності та соціально-економічного зростання. Проте для наявних праць характерна низка досить вагомих обмежень, що пов’язано із недостатнім урахуванням деяких важливих детермінант для інноваційної діяльності та подальшого соціально-економічного зростання. Незважаючи на численні дослідження та наявні досягнення щодо сутності та сутності інноваційної діяльності в контексті соціально-економічного зростання, ще існує багато різних питань, що стосуються їхніх детермінант. Наведене дослідження покликане обґрунтувати детермінанти інноваційної активності в контексті соціально-економічного зростання та відрізняється за своїми концептуальними характеристиками від наявних теорій. У процесі аналізу визначено широкий спектр підходів до диференціації як інноваційної діяльності, так і соціально-економічного зростання. По-перше, здійснено емпіричні дослідження чинників, які впливають на інноваційну діяльність. По-друге, стаття презентує низку практичних підходів, які створюють можливість розгляду і поєднання ознак інноваційної діяльності та соціально-економічного зростання. По-третє, у дослідженні розвинуто емпіричні моделі, які враховують тенденції інноваційної діяльності та соціально-економічного зростання в Україні. Таким чином, наведено емпіричні моделі, які розробляються відповідно до відповідних тенденцій у національній економіці. Представлено эмпирические исследования внутренних и внешних детерминант инновационной деятельности и социально-экономического роста. Ряд предыдущих исследований было сосредоточено на характеристиках и сущности инновационной деятельности и социально-экономического роста. Приведенное исследование призвано обосновать детерминанты инновационной активности в контексте социально-экономического роста. Во- первых, осуществлено эмпирические исследования факторов, которые влияют на инновационную деятельность. Во-вторых, статья представляет ряд практических подходов, которые создают возможность рассмотрения и сочетание признаков инновационной деятельности и социально-экономического роста. The study uses a mixed-methods approach, combining academic research, practical instruments, surveys, interviews, and the author’s professional observations. It also presents a case study of the UN and humanitarian assistance providers’ response and programmatic methodologies in the context of the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine. The paper looks at the business model of an agri-startup that licenses parental lines from foreign breeders, produces F1-hybrid seed in Ukraine and sells it to agricultural producers, paying per-season royalties to the licensor. Three barriers that block a new entrant from the global seed market are described, and it is shown why licensed technology transfer is the most realistic entry strategy. It reviews key government strategies, particularly the recently introduced MedTech strategy, which targets advancements in bionic prosthetics, skin regeneration technologies, burn therapies, mental healthcare, and medical applications of artificial intelligence. A significant focus is placed on the Lab2Market MedTech accelerator, initiated by Ukraine's IP Office, designed to transition scientific research in medical technologies into commercial products. У статті проаналізовано поточний стан сектору біонаук та охорони здоров’я в Україні, зокрема порушення, спричинені триваючим конфліктом, а також ініціативи, спрямовані на цифрову трансформацію галузі. Розглянуто основні урядові стратегії, зокрема нещодавно впроваджену MedTech-стратегію, що охоплює розвиток біонічного протезування, технологій регенерації шкіри, лікування опіків, ментального здоров’я та застосування штучного інтелекту в медицині. In particular, creative projects are important as a vital driver in maintaining business and social sector competitive. Thereby, research problem lays upon the potential of providing crowdfunding support to overcome the creative project divide in different countries. The paper aims to provide scientific support on creative projects innovative financing in Ukraine and Poland within Kickstarter. The research methodology is based on Kickstarter data (10 years; 83 industries and 898 projects) processed by statistical analysis. The Concentration Ratio (CR) was modified to measure the concentration of efforts, considering the largest creative industries within Kickstarter platform. The results section represents high rates of concentration of efforts for Ukrainian creative projects that commercialize tangible physical goods: Product Design and Gadgets. At the same time, in Poland the main concentration of efforts is in the field of intangible intellectual products: Tabletop Games and Video Games. Thus, digital platform is a reflection of interrelations between intangible and tangible values in economies. The study results can be used within national programs of creative innovative projects financial support. However, the rapid changes in external and internal conditions in relation to science and innovation caused the need to integrate innovative priorities with environmental imperatives to support sustainable development of modern society. Thereby, the above-mentioned tendencies are also highly widespread at local (regional) level, because both innovation and environmental practices play an essential role for social development, economic growth, improved productivity and competitiveness, and improved quality of life. Thereby, research problem lays upon the regional environmental systems and their influence at innovative development in Ukraine. The paper aims to provide scientific support on environmental systems development and their connection with innovative development indicators at the regional level. The research methodology is based on official statistical data on Ukrainian economy innovativeness analysis during the last ten years. The environmental component is analyzed at the regional level that allowed us to rank Ukrainian regions in accordance with the level of their environmental responsibility, propose a measure of transformation to their strategies. As the result, the groups of regional environmental strategies were defined in accordance with criteria of their effectiveness and need of transformation. На основі аналізу досвіду світових та українських університетів за останні роки автори констатують радикальну трансформацію використання інструментів GenAI: від періодичних експериментів до систематичного залучення у повсякденну академічну діяльність. Метою роботи є аналіз суб’єктивного ставлення українських здобувачів до використання інструментів GenAI та обґрунтування на основі розширеного SWOT-аналізу стратегій їх педагогічної імплементації для мінімізації ризиків і посилення фахових компетентностей. Емпіричну базу дослідження склали результати опитування здобувачів Київського національного економічного університету іменіВадима Гетьмана, прове-деного за методом CAWI. Наукова новизна роботи полягає у розробці розширеного SWOT-аналізу, який дозволив систематизувати суб’єктивне ставлення студентів до GenAI через призму внутрішніх факторів (сильні та слабкі сторони) та зовнішніх впливів (можливості та загрози). Авторами деталь-но описано чотири типи стратегій: стратегії зростання через трансформацію ролі студента з «виконавця» на «архітектора» рішень, стратегії захисту від звинувачень у плагіаті та втрати соціального контакту, стратегії вдосконалення шляхом перетворення «сліпої довіри» на навички фактчекінгу та стратегії мінімізації ризиків найгірших сценаріїв когнітивної атрофії та професійної непридатності. Автори наголошують на необхідності переходу від моделі заборони до моделі партнерства, що передбачає впровадження навичок промпт-інжинірингу та верифікації інформації як наскрізних компетентностей у сучасних освітніх програмах, прозорих етичних політик та зміну підходів до оцінювання знань. The article examines the phenomenon of the rapid integration of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) into higher education, which has surpassed the transition to distance learning during the pandemic and martial law in terms of its scale of impact. Based on an analysis of the experience of global and Ukrainian universities in recent years, the authors note a radical transformation in the use of GenAI tools: from periodic experiments to systematic involvement in everyday academic activities. The aim of the study is to analyze the subjective attitudes of Ukrainian students towards the use of GenAI tools and to justify, based on an extended SWOT analysis, strategies for their pedagogical implementation to minimize risks and strengthen professional competencies. The empirical basis of the study was the results of a survey of students at the Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University, conducted using the CAWI method. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the development of an extended SWOT analysis, which made it possible to systematize students' subjective attitudes towards GenAI through the prism of internal factors (strengths and weaknesses) and external influences (opportunities and threats). The authors describe in detail four types of strategies: strategies for growth through the transformation of the student's role from “performer” to “architect” of solutions, strategies for protection against accusations of plagiarism and loss of social contact; strategies for improvement by transforming “blind trust” into fact-checking skills; and strategies for minimizing the risks of worst-case scenarios of cognitive atrophy and professional incompetence. In the article, the potential is considered from the standpoint of the resource approach (as a resource system), and from the viewpoint of the process approach, i.e. implementation of various innovative strategies by the enterprise.
