Abstract
In the modern world, where environmental problems are becoming increasingly urgent, reducing human activity's impact on the environment is gaining global importance. One of the key tools in solving these problems is environmental taxation, which stimulates enterprises and consumers to behave environmentally responsibly. Many developed countries are actively using this mechanism to reduce emissions of harmful substances and the overall environmental burden. Ukraine also seeks to integrate ecological standards into its tax system, but this is happening with specific difficulties. There is a significant gap between the level of environmental taxation in Ukraine and global standards, affecting state environmental policy's effectiveness. This work is devoted to analysing the current state of ecological taxation in Ukraine, its compliance with international trends, and proposals for improving the system while considering world experience.
