The object of the research is to analyze the process of development and any increases in the effectiveness of marketing segmentation. The subject of research is the theoretical, methodical and practical provisions of the formation of targeted marketing segmentation for the markets of Ukrainian enterprises. The goal of the research is to evaluate the direction and type of market segmentation that determines future target segments for enterprises and their share of existing markets. We present the characteristics of enterprises that work on market relations for the production and sale of computer devices that provide network connections. Our method was to estimate the direction and type of market segmentation in order to determine the prospective segments for such enterprises and their share of the existing market. In order to evaluate the attractiveness of target segments for Ukrainian enterprises, a survey was conducted to validate customer reactions. The analyzed variables included: the length of time a person uses his/her computer device; the reasons for possible changes and important settings when choosing a computer device; the timeframe for buying a computer device. The results of the questionnaire are separated by gender, social and geographic factors, as well as by family composition and age of respondents, taking into account the stages of their life cycle, as well as their educational level and professions – for three enterprises. Particular attention was paid to the psychographic factors of occupation and social class. The questionnaire also contained a self-assessment section on the psychological qualities of the consumer and on their psychography, which we analyzed. The hypotheses presented by individual factors and the consumer segment, separated by the results of the survey, and the analysis of the respondents' answers, are presented. Confirmation of the hypotheses and isolation of the consumer segment are given.Item Gendered perceptions of professional development in academia: evidence from a Ukrainian university(LLC “Consulting Publishing Company “Business Perspectives”, 2020) Tsymbaliuk, Svitlana; Цимбалюк, Світлана Олексіївна; Цимбалюк, Светлана Алексеевна; Kurchenko, Lina; Курченко, Ліна Миколаївна; Курченко, Лина Николаевна; Tokar, Volodymyr; Токар, Володимир Володимирович; Токарь, Владимир Владимирович; Vinska, Oksana; Вінська, Оксана Йосипівна; Винская, Оксана Осиповна; Shkoda, Tetiana; Шкода, Тетяна Никодимівна; Шкода, Татьяна НикодимовнаThe aim of the article is to study the impact of gender on the professional development of university teachers and their motivation for professional advancement. The article analyzes gendered perceptions of the professional development in the Ukrainian academic sector based on the survey of teachers from Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman (KNEU) (Ukraine). The respondents provided their assessment of conditions that support or destroy their academic careers. The findings showed significant divergence in gendered perceptions and attitudes toward motives, conditions and results of professional development at the university. Although all staff members were unanimously confident in their professionalism, the degree of satisfaction, perception of fairness and willingness to engage in management through initiatives was significantly lower among women. Female academics expressed a greater need for mentoring, while men showed greater interest in material incentives. Impressively, 11% of women versus 0% of men believe that their gender is an obstacle to their career. The study findings require the inclusion of gender aspects in the university’s development strategy and ensuring equal opportunities at all stages of HR management in academia.Item Institutional, Financial and Economic Challenges and Prospects of Cooperation between Ukraine and MENA Region(Wyższa Szkoła Ekonomiczno-Humanistyczna, 2020) Ananiev, Mykola; Zalizniuk, ViktoriiaItem Offshore economy tendencies and challenges: case study of Ukraine(Харківський навчально-науковий інститут ДВНЗ «Університет банківської справи», 2021) Stoliarchuk, Yaroslava; Столярчук, Ярослава Михайлівна; Tokar, Volodymyr; Токар, Володимир Володимирович; Turoliev, Hlib; Туролєв, Гліб Олександрович; Vodianka, L.; Водянка, Л.; Shterma, T.; Штерма, Т.The paper aims at disclosing the nature of offshore tools used for the withdrawal of capital from Ukraine, as well as suggesting measures to be undertaken by Ukrainian authorities to improve the current situation. The authors apply comparative analysis to find the data discrepancy between State Statistics Service of Ukraine and Eurostat on export-import operations between Ukraine and the EU to determine the volumes of tax evasion and avoidance in Ukraine. The article states that dynamic internationalization of financial and economic operations of Ukrainian business entities in recent decades had negative effects on national welfare due to their maneuvering of capital between affiliated units via transfer pricing and intensifying their offshorization using transborder movement of commodities, services, and factors of production resulting in the reduction of budget tax revenues, increasing the scale of cross-border outflow of capital, strengthening the strategic control of foreign countries over the production facilities of Ukraine, as well as significantly undermining national tax security, macroeconomic and social balance. Thus, Ukrainian regulatory bodies must take measures aimed at deoffshorization of business activities, structural modernization of the national economy, dynamization of macroeconomic growth, regulation of inflation and increasing the volume of foreign direct investments in Ukraine. Purpose. The purpose of this paper is to disclose and explain disparities of social and economic development of twenty-eight postcommunist countries based on the World Bank’s macroeconomic indicators of the selected countries in 2000-2014. The paper questions whether post-communist countries are homogeneous within certain groupings and essentially different across different groupings. The differences are defined in accordance with World Development Indicators. Methods. We have applied cluster analysis to classify post-communist countries based on the long-term average of macroeconomic indicators including: GDP per capita, GDP per capita growth, Foreign direct investment net inflows (percentage of GDP), Agriculture value added (percentage of GDP), Industry value added (percentage of GDP), Total natural resources rents (percentage of GDP), and Value added (percentage of GDP), etc. The Kruskal-Wallis rank test procedure has been used to verify differences between clusters of evidence. Results. Taking into consideration the results obtained via Ward’s method we divided post-communist countries into three relatively homogeneous clusters. Cluster 1 consisted of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan although Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan were assigned to Cluster 2 in the period of 2010-2014. Cluster 2 included Albania, Belarus, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, FYR of Macedonia, Romania, the Russian Federation, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The third cluster comprised Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Slovak Republic. The Kruskal-Wallis rank test indicates statistically significant cluster differences (0.05 level of significance) for GDP per capita, GDP per capita growth, Inflation GDP deflator, Agriculture value added, Total natural resources rents, Services etc. value added. The only exception is GDP per capita growth, which has not been significantly different in 2000-2004. The conclusions are based on p-values, which have been compared with values appropriate to the level of significance ( = 0.05). Conclusions Although all countries in our research were post-communist countries, their economic trajectory after communism was far from being identical. We have found fairly consistent evidence that post-communist countries differ with respect to their social and economic dynamics and can be grouped into three relatively homogeneous clusters. European countriesconstantly make sufficient progress to overcome female discrimination, but men remain the critical missing link in the public agenda. Disproportionally demanding social expectations towards males violate the very core principles of gender equality. The authors used the data from World Value Survey (WVS) performed in 2010-2014 to conduct the cross-country analysis of prime earner gender bias in selected European countries based on data availability. The results of calculations show that open-minded societies of Germany, Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden support equal partnership, while traditional perception of men as prime breadwinners and women as major caregivers still prevails in less-developed Cyprus, Estonia and Ukraine. The study indicates that males stay the most vulnerable audience targeted by social and economic status challenges caused by scarcity of jobs. Measurement ofstatistical dependence between support for female economic empowerment and confidence in economic security provides hard evidence thatthere is the essential and noticeable correlation between them. In Ukraine, disproportionally demanding social expectations towards men do not meet the actual opportunities. This exaggerated need to earn and provide distorts their work and life balance urging Ukraine to balance its gender policies.Item Status quo of gender equality in eu rural business management(Vytautas Magnus University Agriculture Academy, 2019) Kolinets, Lesya; Tokar, Volodymyr; The relevance of article relates to achieving sustainable development goals declared by the United Nations Organization and enrooted in the EU legislature and practice, namely guaranteeing gender equality and eradicating hunger via enhancing agricultural production. The main research problem is determining the status quo of gender equality in EU rural business management. The purpose of the article is to estimate the female-to-male ratio among managers of agricultural holdings in EU member-states. The goals of the article include determining leading countries and outsiders, as well as suggesting recommendations to change the situation. The research methodology relies on converting the raw data to ratios, truncating the data at equality benchmark and ranking. This approach can be used for evaluating and monitoring the efficiency of measures aimed at fostering gender equality in the EU rural business in the future. The results showed the leading positions of Baltic countires, probably, due to their openness to new innovative ideas of female empowerment, especially after freeing from the communist burden, and lack of traditional managerial structure determining the patterns in other EU member-states (i.e., Germany, Denmark, and Netherlands). Special measures devoted to overcoming the discovered absence of gender parity should include information campaigns advertising managerial positions in agriculture for females, gender quotas, training programs and mentorship aimed at bridging the gender gap in rural business management. Purpose: Integrating institutional and technological innovations into manufacturing process poses a challenge to Ukraine considering apparent flaws of its industrial enterprises’ ineffective as well as out-of-date investment strategies. The European Union TNCs’ high innovative performance as a result of their up-to-date investment strategies is a vivid instance of successful innovation and investment development management. As there is growing evidence of the European integration prospects of Ukraine, the European Union TNCs’ analysis may shine a light on the questions surrounding selection of the best suited investment strategies for Ukrainian industrial enterprises. Methods:We examine the interplay between innovation development and investment strategies of the EU TNCs, integrating methods of abstraction, deduction and induction, as well as statistical technique. Results: Taking into account the essence of investment strategies, we suggest that their basic objectives are: improvement in quality of goods; price reduction with no changes in other strategies; cost saving based on new technology, industrial engineering modes, labor and general management enhancement; capacity expansion (step-up in sales) with no changes in other strategies; market development. The aggregate R&D financing of the top 1 000 European Union TNCs has increased from 112.9 billion euros to 152.9 billion euros. So, the total growth has amounted to 40.044 billion euros, in other words, it has grown by 35.5 percent. The average annual level of aggregate R&D financing during this period accounted for 130.5 billion euros. In line with aggregate indicators, the R&D financing per TNC has shown the similar dynamics. The aggregate financing of enterprise innovation and investment activity in Ukraine in hryvnias reached the peak of 14.334 billion hryvnias (1.293 billion euros) in 2011, but this figure distorts the fact of the actual R&D decline. The highest level of the aggregate financing of enterprise innovation and investment activity in Ukraine was reached in 2007, and the record high equaled 20.739 billion hryvnias (1.870 billion euros) in 2011 hryvnias. Conclusion: A global investment strategy of a TNC is a system of long-term measures of specific and sectoral capital investment optimization, developed by management and agreed with shareholders, which involves equal distribution of investment between the North American, European and Asian segments of the world market in order to ensure the global competitiveness of a TNC. A TNC investment cycle is as a determined period from an investment idea initiation to investment product implementation resulting in an economic, social, ecological development level of a new quality or modernization of technology and management system. Relevance of the TNC’s investment strategy development is determined by such basic conditions: future shift in its life cycle stages, which have their own level of innovation and investment activity; change in goals of a TNC operational activity, which is connected with new commercial opportunities resulting in investment activity growth. An investment cycle of the European Union TNCs is made up of six basic stages: initiation, formation, growth, maturity, decline, new quality shift. The European Union TNCs are one of the main driving forces of globalization, integration and internationalization in the modern world.Item The interplay between the global islamic finance and economic growth of Muslim countries(Харківський навчально-науковий інститут ДВНЗ «Університет банківської справи», 2021) Batorshina, A. F.; Баторшина, Аділя Фатехівна; Баторшина, Аделя Фатеховна; Tokar, Volodymyr; Токар, Володимир Володимирович; Токарь, Владимир Владимирович; Kolinets, L.; Колінець, Л. Б.; Sybyrka, L.; Сибирка, Л. А.; Almarashdi, O.; Альмарашді, О.The article discloses development peculiarities of the global Islamic financial industry and determines its interplay with the economic growth of Muslim countries. The aim of the article is to reveal current trends in key segments of the global Islamic finance market (Islamic banking, capital market and Iinsurance) and analyze the impact of each of them on the economic growth of the countries, which are most developed in the field of Islamic finance. The countries surveyed were selected according to the Islamic Finance Development Indicator (IFDI), which reflects the general state of the Islamic financial industry worldwide and in each country. IFDI is based on five indicators: quantitative development (QD), knowledge, governance, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and awareness. In 2019, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Indonesia, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia were the most developed countries in terms of Islamic finance. Examining the impact of different types of Islamic financial assets on the GDP of these Muslim countries, we used Eviews10 to conduct a regression analysis, which showed a positive relationship between GDP and only two types of assets, namely bank and Islamic bonds (sukuk). associated with significant volumes of these segments of the global Islamic financial market and the tradition of investing in key sectors of the economy. We discovered the negative relationship between GDP and Islamic insurance (Takaful) in all countries studied, which can be explained by ineffective investment strategies of Islamic insurance companies, which suffer from low profitability and are unable to increase their assets in line with current trends in innovation and development. We also found the inverse relationship between Islamic funds and GDPs of the UAE, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia, which may be related to the distribution of financial resources from these countries to other parts of the world and investment cycles, including the waiting period before repatriation of profits and interest; the concentration of funds in major markets makes it impossible to scale their activities in the global market. Item Transformation Tendencies of the Global Monetary System(Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Rzeszowskiego, 2013) Tokar, Volodymyr; The article reveals the contradiction between the role of the US dollar as the main global re-serve currency and its national origin, which causes the misuse by the US government to cover the chronic trade and budget deficit. The author researches the crisis management transformation tendencies of the global mone-tary system, namely the weakening positions of the US dollar and euro as the key reserve curren-cies; the gradual formation of the regional monetary unions; the shifting to the national currencies in mutual trade and settlement operations without the US dollar mediation; the gradual replace-ment of the US dollar by the Chinese Yuan as the key reserve currency. The author discloses that the future key regional currencies are “amero” in the USA, Canada and Mexico; “afro” in Africa; “pachu” in Latin America; ACU in the Asian and Pacific region; “Golden dinar” in the Persian Gulf region; “sucre” in the Caribbean region; “euras” in the Europe-an and Asian Economic Commonwealth. Autor przewiduje, że kluczowymi regionalnymi walutami w przyszłości będą „amero” w Stanach Zjednoczonych, Kanadzie i Meksyku; „afro” w Afryce; „pachu” w Ameryce Łacińskiej; ACU w regionie Azji i Pacyfiku; „złoty dinar” w regionie Zatoki Perskiej; „Sucre” w regionie Karaibów: „euras” we Wspólnocie Gospodarczej Europy i Azji.
