The topic gains particular significance due to profound shifts in Ukraine’s entrepreneurial culture triggered by the full-scale invasion: a growing number of companies now embed a social dimension into their strategy, treating it not as a supplementary feature but as the very foundation of their business model. Wartime conditions have amplified the demand for entrepreneurial initiatives directed at addressing pressing social challenges – ranging from veteran employment to rebuilding damaged infrastructure. The study aims to delineate the defining characteristics of mission-oriented entrepreneurship in Ukraine, to classify its practical manifestations, and to evaluate how wartime circumstances have reshaped domestic business values, drawing on official statistics, sociological survey data, and reports from international bodies covering 2022–2026. As a result, it was found that during the full-scale invasion, there was a qualitative shift in the motivation of entrepreneurs: the share of companies that systematically integrate the social component into the strategy increased from 24% to 61% during 2022–2025. Registered social enterprises expanded by 109% (from 850 to 1,780), while corporate charitable donations doubled in volume. Comparative data show that mission-oriented enterprises, even with lower near-term profitability (8.2% compared to 11.7%), exhibit stronger three-year survival rates (78% against 54%), greater customer loyalty (71% repeat buyers versus 44%), and reduced employee turnover. Organisational forms of purpose-driven entrepreneurship were classified, and a sectoral review identified the environmental and recycling sector as yielding the highest social return on investment. The paper concludes that purpose-driven entrepreneurship represents both an ethical stance and a viable pathway to sustained competitive advantage. Further progress in this area calls for building adequate institutional foundations: enacting dedicated legislation, implementing social procurement instruments, and establishing robust social impact assessment frameworks. Ця стаття досліджує цілеспрямоване підприємництво – бізнес-модель, де соціальна місія має перевагу над комерційним прибутком. Тема набуває особливої важливості через глибокі зміни в підприємницькій культурі України, спричинені повномасштабним вторгненням: дедалі більше компаній тепер вбудовують соціальний вимір у свою стратегію, розглядаючи його не як додаткову функцію, а як саму основу своєї бізнес-моделі. Воєнні умови посилили попит на підприємницькі ініціативи, спрямовані на вирішення нагальних соціальних проблем – від працевлаштування ветеранів до відновлення пошкодженої інфраструктури. Метою дослідження є визначення визначальних характеристик цілеспрямованого підприємництва в Україні, класифікація його практичних проявів та оцінка того, як обставини воєнного часу змінили цінності вітчизняного бізнесу, спираючись на офіційну статистику, дані соціологічних опитувань та звіти міжнародних організацій за 2022–2026 роки. В результаті було виявлено, що під час повномасштабного вторгнення відбувся якісний зсув у мотивації підприємців: частка компаній, які систематично інтегрують соціальний компонент у стратегію, зросла з 24% до 61% протягом 2022–2025 років. Кількість зареєстрованих соціальних підприємств зросла на 109% (з 850 до 1780), тоді як обсяг корпоративних благодійних пожертв подвоївся. Порівняльні дані показують, що місійно-орієнтовані підприємства, навіть з нижчою короткостроковою прибутковістю (8,2% порівняно з 11,7%), демонструють вищі трирічні показники виживання (78% проти 54%), більшу лояльність клієнтів (71% постійних покупців проти 44%) та знижену плинність кадрів. Було класифіковано організаційні форми цілеспрямованого підприємництва, а галузевий огляд визначив, що сектор охорони навколишнього середовища та переробки відходів забезпечує найвищу соціальну віддачу від інвестицій. У статті робиться висновок, що цілеспрямоване підприємництво є як етичною позицією, так і життєздатним шляхом до сталої конкурентної переваги. Подальший прогрес у цій галузі вимагає створення належної інституційної основи: прийняття спеціального законодавства, впровадження інструментів соціальних закупівель та створення надійних систем оцінки соціального впливу.Item Environmental Business as a New Ideologeme of Social Progress: Social and Philosophical Analysis(Sciendo, 2019) Severyn-Mrachkovska, Liudmyla; Северин-Мрачковська, Людмила Василівна; Северин-Мрачковская, Людмила ВасильевнаThe article presents a social and philosophical analysis of the phenomenon of environmental business as a new ideologeme of social progress. The essence, reasons of occurrence, conditions and directions of the activity of the ecological business in the modern world are analysed. It is concluded that the development of the environmental business is a determinant of the process of the greening of the economy, contributes to the expansion of the environmental thinking of the society and serves as a necessary condition for the sustainable development of the country and the world in general. The environmental business is a vivid example of the interaction between morality and economy. Straipsnyje pateikiama socialinė ir filosofinė aplinkosaugos verslo fenomeno, kaip naujosios socialinės pažangos ideologijos, analizė. Nagrinėjama ekologinio verslo esmė, atsiradimo priežastys, sąlygos ir veiklos kryptys šiuolaikiniame pasaulyje. Daroma išvada, kad aplinkosaugos verslo plėtra yra ekologiško ekonomikos proceso veiksnys, prisidedantis prie visuomenės ekologinio mąstymo plėtros ir yra būtina sąlyga tvariam šalies ir pasaulio vystymuisi bendrąja prasme. The method of experiment has been determined as the main one in the research. The results of the experiment were evaluated based on questionnaires, tests, the method of observation and statistical methods. The result of the study is to determine a set of exercises, materials, components of the method of forming socio-cultural competence, using which the future specialist must be fluent in foreign languages and demonstrate a high ability to communicate successfully, increasing student achievement in groups that actively used sociolinguistic perspectives in teaching languages. It was reported that the use of sociolinguistic aspects in the teaching process contributes to the quality study of the disciplines of the language corpus. El objetivo de la investigación es establecer el vínculo entre el éxito de los estudiantes y la competencia social y comunicativa activa durante el estudio de lenguas extranjeras. El método de experimento se ha determinado como el principal en la investigación. Los resultados del experimento se evaluaron en base a cuestionarios, pruebas, el método de observación y métodos estadísticos. El resultado del estudio es determinar un conjunto de ejercicios, materiales, componentes del método de formación de la competencia sociocultural, utilizando el cual el futuro especialista debe ser fluido en lenguas extranjeras y demostrar una alta capacidad para comunicarse con éxito, aumentando el rendimiento de los estudiantes en grupos que utilizan activamente perspectivas sociolingüísticas en la enseñanza de idiomas. Therefore, the actual European process and principles of creating the efficient ordering system, according to which certain international institutional structures function, should be considered in the context of today’s total sovereignty and at the same time ensuring the safety of international relations. This trend suggests that the presence of some basic concepts of self-governance aimed at creating mechanisms for intergovernmental governance in the global community should remove the possibility of destabilization of international cooperation. Thus, generally civilized pillars of social governance, including international relations, lie in the understanding that people have to base their relationships on principles of the highest administrative feasibility, which should embrace economic, political and spiritual energy of any nation. This interpretation of general issues of international relations seems quite logical and well-grounded in the light of recent developments in Ukraine. Therefore, the expression “reason rules the world” should be viewed as an objective opportunity of any institution through the energy of its own organization and by management to achieve a holistic level of the system which is too important for humanity, which in its historical development has always longed for a high level of organization, and consequently reached in its civilization development a level where management has become the most productive type of production. In this view management as a science can be perceived as the most lucrative and prudent source of allocating capital. Biological organizational evolution appears to have been locked: in its highest form — for a human being it has found its reflection and the most organic way of life. And the higher the development of civilization, in particular management, the more organically the mankind enters this circle, the more harmonious relationships people have with nature.
