Abstract
У статті розглянуто проблему формування професійної ідентичності студентів, досліджено психолого-педагогічні умови, що визначають особливість реалізації процесу.
The problem of professional identity gains a particular importance and attracts attention of many researchers due to the new developmental challenges of the Ukrainian society. Recent studies in psychology are aimed at defining the essence of the phenomenon of professional identity, and also at exploring the possibilities of formation of an individual’s identity by the means of social impact, which reflect the state of the study of the basic concepts — identity. In order to meet the requirements of educational practices and to improve the process of identity formation of the contemporary professionals, such a definition of this concept is offered as a starting point: professional identity is a categorization of personal identity to the individually chosen professional image and awareness of one’s own belonging to a certain profession and to a related professional community. This vision allows us to understand what the psychological and educational tools that are factors in the formation of professional identity of students — future professionals may be. The aim of this study is a psychological substantiation of the pedagogical means of formation of professional identity of students during their studies at a higher education institution. The theoretical study suggests that tertiary education has enough strong potential for the formation of professional identity of students, while there is a serious backlog in purposeful use of didactic tools available to achieve these same goals. As immediate steps to ensure the appropriate changes in the organization of the educational and professional activities of students the following ones are justified: – humanitarian component of the training of any professional should be filled with the items that will lay a strong foundation to create an image of the defined self of a student — the foundation of his/her professional identity; – based on the principles of student centered learning, activation of a student’s mental resources should be ensured to effectively capture teaching and professional experience and expression of his/her subjective position in this process; – model of professional identity of students in educational process at the university should be created for the purpose of continuous monitoring of the goals achievement process, its results and, if necessary, corrective actions.
